A recent spike in vehicle break-ins has Daviess County Sheriff’s deputies investigating. According to media partner 14News, around a dozen people recently reported their car being broken into in the Highway 405, Wright Acres subdivision area. Police say most all of the affected vehicles had unlocked doors, and small items were being taken, including loose change. One person reported a stolen handgun. Deputies say the best way to protect yourself from becoming a victim is locking your car doors, putting your valuables in the trunk, and being vigilant.
