The Spectra Venue Management team at the Owensboro Convention Center spent the afternoons of April 20 and April 25 updating the community plots gardened by the Burmese refugees. In a community effort with First Christian Church, each garden box was updated with new wood and made ready for planting. “With over 400 refugees from Myanmar that have settled in Owensboro, helping with this community garden was perfectly in-line with the mission of our upcoming Comcast Cares Day,” said Dean Dennis, General Manager of the Owensboro Convention Center/VP of Spectra. Saturday, April 30 will celebrate the 15th anniversary of Comcast Cares Day which brings together employees, their families, friends, and community partners around the world to volunteer and make change happen in local communities. Last year, more than 600 Comcast Spectacor employees participated in over 40 projects nationwide.
