The Owensboro Convention Center will be the host site for three unique sporting events the weekend of August 19 – 20.
Weekend highlights include the 2016 Ohio Valley Cornhole Championship on August 19 – 20. Saturday will feature Amateur and Professional Tournaments playing best two out of three for cash prizes up to $1,000. Registration for Amateur teams is $30 and will be from 8:00am to 9:30am with the tournament beginning at 9:30am. Registration for Professional teams is $50 and will be from 8:00am to 10:00am with the tournament starting at 10:30am. Registration for Amateur and Professional teams is available online at www.OwensboroTickets.com. The tournament is produced by St. Pius X Catholic Church and the Cliff Hagan Girls & Boys Club.
On Saturday, August 20 Master Jones’ ATA Martial Arts presents the American Taekwondo Association Regional Tournament. Spectator admission is $5. Children under 5 are admitted free. Doors open at 7:00am for registration. Opening ceremonies are scheduled to begin at 8:30am. Saturday, August 20 will also feature the Kentucky Natural Classic – a bodybuilding show that is open to both professional and amateur athletes. The Kentucky Natural Classic is a pro qualifying event sanctioned by the National Gym Association (NGA). Pre-judging begins at 11:00am with the show at 4:00pm.
