Hancock County’s largest employer is being sold. According to the Messenger-Inquirer, Zhongwang USA LLC, a Chinese company, is buying the Aleris Corporation for $2.33 billion. Local company officials say it’s a positive move, as the name, management, and products will not change. Plus the $350 expansion of the facility will continue as planned. A news release said Aleris’ headquarters will remain in Cleveland, and it will be operated as an independent entity. The sale is expected to close in the first quarter of 2017.
