A Louisville man was arrested early Thursday after deputies say they found several items, including drugs, during a traffic stop on the Wendell Ford Expressway. 26-year-old Ronald Edward Sand was first pulled over for speeding, and a K-9 unit was called in, resulting in a positive alert. The vehicle was searched, and many illegal items were located. Daviess County Sheriff’s deputies say they found Crystal Meth, Heroin, Marijuana, Xanax, Lortab, Amphetamine salt, Oxycodone, and other unknown pills. A handgun was also recovered that had been stolen from a Jefferson County corrections officer. Sand was charged with numerous drug offenses, which were enhanced by the presence of the handgun. Deputies say Sand was on probation out of Jefferson County for other drug charges.
