A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans a daytime lane restriction on the US 41 Twin Bridges between Henderson and Evansville starting Tuesday, December 13, 2016. The daytime work zone lane restriction is to allow surveying of the bridge structure and prep work for installation of new solar powered navigation lights on the US 41 Twin Bridges. The daytime lane restriction will initially start on the SOUTHBOUND bridge on Tuesday, December 13, then continue through about Friday, December 16th. The contractor will then return on Monday, December 19th with a daytime lane restriction starting on the NORTHBOUND bridge. The crew expects to be on the northbound bridge through about Friday, December 23rd. Motorists can expect to encounter one lane traffic between 8:30 a.m., CST, and 2:30 p.m., each day. All traffic is expected to initially move to the left-hand or passing lane in this work zone. Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and other personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow. The contractor will use information gleaned during the survey and prep work to fabricate new soloar powered navigation lights. Weather permitting, the contractor anticipates returning to the Twin Birdges around February 1, 2017, to start installation of the new nav lights.
