A two-year-old child was injured Tuesday afternoon after falling out of a moving vehicle. According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, 23-year-old Tabitha Ewan was pulling onto KY 144 after a visit at the Daviess County Detention Center. According to a passenger, 26-year-old Gina Fambrough, Ewan was making a right turn from the exit of the jail property when a two-year-old apparently opened the car door and fell out onto the pavement. The child, Kaila James, was taken to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital for treatment. Deputies say none of the three children in the back were in safety seats. The case remains under investigation.
