Four people were arrested Tuesday and charged with prostitution-related offenses. Members of the Owensboro Police Department Street Crimes Unit and Criminal Investigations Division, along with a Daviess County Sheriff’s Department detective, the Federal Bureau of Investigations, and the Department of Labor agents, executed four search warrants at various locations within the city of Owensboro. The target of these search warrants was a business named Relaxing Touch Massage. OPD Street Crimes detectives began investigating this business in May, 2016 after receiving complaints from the community related to suspected prostitution. Hundreds of hours of investigations were completed and detectives determined that sex acts were in fact being performed for monetary compensation. As a result of this investigation over $130,000.00 in cash was seized and four individuals involved in the management, supervision, and control of the business were charged with promoting prostitution. This investigation is ongoing.
