Another Daviess County elementary school is preparing for the new academic year by visiting the homes of students. Deer Park Elementary School staff members will visit homes of every student at their school from 5:30 to 7 p.m. today (Thursday) as part of their annual “Ranger Round-Up.” The staff will split into teams to cover the school zone. Teachers will distribute DPES “goodie bags” to welcome kids back to school for the 2017-18 year, while also generating excitement about another year of learning. Another important aspect of the event is building positive relationships between school and homes, as teachers and parents are both important partners in the education of each child. Last week, staff at Whitesville Elementary also visited students and families in their district over a two-day period.
