A preventive health promotion program for senior adults founded at Kentucky Wesleyan College in 2013 is going statewide. Bingocize will soon be implemented in 23 Kentucky certified nursing homes. In addition to KWC, it will be administered by faculty at the University of Louisville, University of Kentucky, Murray State University, Spalding University and Western Kentucky University. The program goal is to improve aspects of functional performance for adults experiencing dementia while providing a valuable service learning experience for students. Training for area nursing homes will take place at Kentucky Wesleyan College on Friday under the direction of Dr. Jason Crandall, associate professor and Center for Gerontology research fellow at Western Kentucky University.
