On Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at approximately12:55 p.m. the Owensboro Police Department responded to the Colonel House, located at 1829 Triplett Street, in reference to a stabbing. Officers located one adult male in the rear parking lot of the business suffering from multiple stab wounds. The male believed to be responsible for those injuries had fled the area on foot and was taken into custody at approximately 1:00 p.m. in the area of E. 17th Street and Triplett Street. The investigation has revealed that the two males had a verbal altercation that turned physical, leaving the victim, Deonte C. Holland, with multiple non-life threatening stab wounds to his neck, side, and back. Holland was transported by ambulance to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital for treatment. Detectives have charged Jeffrey S. Young with the below listed charges. Young is currently lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center. A photo was not available at the time of this release.
