A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans milling, paving and base repairs along a section of KY 138 in southeastern McLean County starting Tuesday, February 20. Milling, paving and base repairs along KY 138 runs from the intersection with KY 1589 at milepoint 9.594 extending souteast to the KY 891 intersection at milepoint 11.350, a distance of 1.75 miles. This section is between Rumsey and Livermore. Motorists should use appropriate caution where equipment, flaggers, and paving personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow. In areas where based repairs are completed, traffic will be allowed to run on the repaired areas for about 2 weeks to allow settling before paving of the new driving surface is started. Road Builders, LLC, of Greenville is the prime contractor on his $338,144 highway improvement project. The project has a June 30, 2018, target completion date.
