One person is dead after an accident Monday morning on U.S. 60 East. According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, they, long with the Yelvington Fire Department and Yellow Ambulance, responded to 60 East around 6:15am where a Chevrolet Colorado traveling eastbound crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Volvo semi truck. The driver of the Chevrolet was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi, 37-year-old Adam Long of Irvington, was not injured. The name of the person killed has not been released. The report says speed could have been a factor, and the driver who was killed was not wearing a seat belt. U.S. 60 was blocked for several hours between KY 334 and Kelly Cemetery Road.
