Daviess County Public Schools will be in session on Thursday and Friday, March 1-2. There will be no preschool at West Louisville Elementary School. Preschool at all other DCPS elementary schools will remain open on Thursday, March 1. (There is no preschool on Friday.)
Families living in flooded areas may contact our Transportation Department at the numbers listed below; we will do our best to dispatch drivers to provide pick up or drop off at alternative locations. If families can get their children to a certain point beyond road closures, we can accommodate those requests. Families living in areas affected by flooding may also contact their school to request an excused absence.
DCPS Superintendent Matt Robbins said, “We are committed to helping our families return to a sense of normalcy following this flood, which has been devastating to certain areas of Daviess County. We want to help children return to a familiar and comfortable routine, with a nutritious breakfast and lunch available to them, while relieving parents of the need to find child care while they are at work or while dealing with issues relating to flooding near their homes.”
