Owensboro’s City Manager Bill Parrish is retiring.
14 WFIE reports Mayor Tom Watson announced Wednesday morning that Parrish let the Board of Commissioners know about his decision to retire at Tuesday night’s closed session.
Parrish has worked for the City of Owensboro for 17 years of service.
He started working for the city in August 2001 as the Sanitation Director. Parrish expanded his duties by managing the street and stormwater departments in addition to the sanitation department.
Parrish was selected for the City Manager position in December 2007.
Parrish’s retirement will go into effect on July 31, 2018. The hiring process and search will begin immediately.
