Most of Kentucky’s political leaders or frontrunners are headed for the November ballot. Yesterday’s primary delivered only a few upsets across the state. One of the largest upsets came in central Kentucky, where high school teacher R. Travis Brenda narrowly defeated Republican House Majority Floor Leader Jonathan Shell in their Garrard County statehouse district. The other upset making headlines came in Lexington, where Amy McGrath beat Lexington Mayor Jim Gray for the chance to take on Republican Congressman Andy Barr in November.
