The fate of Kentucky’s new work requirement for people on Medicaid now rests in the hands of a federal judge. The District Court judge said he plans to issue his ruling by July 1st on whether or not it’s legal for Kentucky to require Medicaid recipients to work or volunteer, if they’re physically able, in order to qualify for their state-funded insurance. The new policy is supposed to start in Campbell County that same day, with later start dates in Boone and Kenton Counties.
