The Sanitation Department operates a Drop-Off Recycling Center at 1401 W. 7th St. At the center, the department accepts aluminum and steel cans, cardboard, mixed plastics (number 2) [no single plastic item larger than 5-gal bucket], newspaper and magazines.
Because our recycling agent will only accept pure loads for recycling, the department is asking for your assistance in making sure that the correct recyclable material is placed into the correct bin. Any cross contamination between products, such as steel cans in the aluminum can bin, may cause our recycler to reject the entire load leaving us no alternative but to deposit the material in the landfill.
