Ford Motor Company is making changes on how it decides when its North American plants should shut down due to severe weather. On Tuesday, Ford announced its weather monitoring contractor AccuWeather will use a wider radius to decide when to issue a notice to take shelter. Ford kept operating normally during a June 26th tornado that passed just north of the Kentucky Truck Plant. Some workers were critical of Ford for operating as normal after the National Weather Service showed the tornado tracked through the Worthington Hills neighborhood near the plant.
