Western Kentucky University will develop a statewide drought warning system. Officials at the Kentucky Climate Center say the system could help the state’s farmers avoid an economic disaster. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration awarded WKU the two year, 200-thousand-dollar grant. The project is part of NOAA’s National Integrated Drought Information System.
