The Indiana Supreme Court is invalidating a state law that allows cities to penalize trains that block traffic. Train company Norfolk Southern had more than 20 citations for stopping on tracks. Previously, municipalities could fine conductors 200-dollars if trains stopped for ten minutes or more. The court threw that out, saying the federal government should be the one to mandate rules on train operations.
